Reverse Sales Tax Calculator

Updated: Mar 2

Calculate the sales tax rate for any city in the United States. Then find the total cost of a sale including the sales tax rate from that city.

How to Utilize This Calculator

STEP ONE: Determining the Sales Tax Rate

Discover the sales tax rate applicable in any U.S. city.

For in-store purchases, please enter the city and zip code of your store.

For transactions made via mail, phone, or online, use the city and zip code of the delivery location, unless the taxation policy of your state is based on the origin of the sale.

STEP TWO: Calculating Sales Tax on Items for Sale

Calculate the overall price of items, including the sales tax for the city where the sale occurs.

Enter the total price of the product or service you're selling, along with the sales tax rate identified in step one.

IMPORTANT: Sales tax rates can vary based on the sale's context. If your business involves selling goods or services to another state, you might not need to collect sales tax. For further details, consult our Guide to Sales Tax for Small Businesses.
